What is immigration, Immigration is the process through which individuals become permanent residents or citizens of America. Historically, the process of immigration has been of great social, economic, and cultural benefit to states. The immigration experience is long and varied and has in many cases resulted in the development of multicultural societies; many modern states are characterized by a wide variety of cultures and ethnicities that have derived from previous periods of immigration.
How does immigration impact us, immigration can impact us in a good way or to some a bad way, most Americans don’t see immigrants as a good thing, they may see them as a threat, most immigration don’t have an education because of where they’re from, immigrants have overall helped our economy the social problem is an activity that brings harmful more than the benefit to the personal, family, country, especially today’s modern world. Immigration can also be a bad thing because of how Immigrant women are also more likely to have children. In 2014, immigrant women between the ages of 15 and 44 had 44 percent more kids than American born women of the same age. That helps support the current working population when they retire. But me personally I see it as a good thing because immigrants do bring new cultural diversity to our world, and teach us new things in different ways, and who doesn’t love learning new things.
The immigration act of 1942 the Immigration Act of 1924 limited the number of immigrants allowed entry into the United States through a national origins quota. The quota provided immigration visas to two percent of the total number of people of each nationality in the United States as of the 1890 national census. It completely excluded immigrants from Asia. In 1917, the U.S. Congress enacted the first widely restrictive immigration law. The uncertainty generated over national security during World War I made it possible for Congress to pass this legislation, and it included several important provisions that paved the way for the 1924 Act. The 1917 Act implemented a literacy test that required immigrants over 16 years old to demonstrate basic reading comprehension in any language Immigrants in the workforce pay taxes into Social Security and Medicare. It improves the age dependency ratio or the number of working people who support the nation’s senior population. The ratio is worsening because the U.S. born population is aging. There aren’t as many in the working age population to support them. As more immigrants enter the workforce, the age dependency ratio improves.
The social problem became more and more serious in the entire world which shows that the social problem is increasing in anywhere and anytime. As the third world country, Malaysia, the country’s growth influenced by the social problem seriously. We need to find out how do these problems affect our country’s growth and discuss the step to prevent the issues, in my personal opinion i don’t think we should be so hesitant to immigrants, because they do help, and if we think about it were the immigrants. With the president we have today, it make immigration more different consider trump doesn’t approve of them, and he is also known as a “racist” which if you think about it isn’t fair to immigrant, because they’re just trying to make a better life for them and their kids when they come to America and “freedom” is our motto we should help them accept them, not separate them and their families because we as citizen feel uncomfortable at the fact new people are in our country, also if you haven’t known we are immigrants, the Indians sat foot here before we claimed it, so we should be more confronting, I also believe if we weren’t so judgemental everybody us will go along and accept immigrants. People do believe immigrants perform violent crimes, with immigrants come crime which is crazy because people aren’t just born violent. An immigrant is a person from one country who moves to another country permanently for a better life. There are many different reasons why people have their country to go to another country. Actually, I’m not an immigrant. However, according to my own experience, some people move to another country to find jobs, but some move to another country to look forward to their better education. Now, I know but many people from Micronesian are getting married in the United State, and they become immigrants to the United States. Being an immigrant to the United States is not easy. What I mean is the way of life is not easy for some people, because everything is about money. We have to pay for everything. But in our island of Chuuk, nothing is difficult. Only we have the right to do whatever we want to d. But in the US there are many things we must go through if we want something, and we also spend a lot of money for many reasons: rent, water, food.
Everything always costs money. There are many sacrifices people face while they are immigrants. They work long hours for more money, but they don’t have enough time with their family. Some people work 24 hours in order to have enough money for their rent and bills. Some people even get sick because of working hard during the day and night. But, they don’t choose to quit their jobs, because they must work hard to get money for their needs and wants. In conclusion, being an immigrant is not an easy way to live well and have a better life. For immigrants, it is not easy to adopt the culture and the way that people behave.
