In July when I was told Greenville Technical College had started a new class, COL-111 that I had to take, because I was taken some online classes. I remember thinking it was ridiculous and feeling agitated. At that point, knowing it was only four weeks and one credit I registered for the class.
First week, Getting Ready for E-learning Success was filled with information that helped me get started on all my online class by watching the videos that reminded how to set up email, so I could communicate all students, teachers and facility at Greenville Technical College. Guided me to the class syllabus, which helped me to know what that is expected of me. My entry in the discussion on technology tidbits was as followed, “WOW, I cannot believe opening GTC4me was so easy. Mr. Hoffman, clued me in on some important information. He told me that I had to use Foxfire or Chrome as my browser. Now getting on GTC4me and blackboard is a breeze.”
Week two, Technology Ready which was GTC4Me, GTC Exploration, File assignment, Formatting assignment that contained great combination learning blocks of the campus life as a student. These assignments developed my skills of directions to many need to know activities and when to find them.
Week three, Schedule assignment and Time Management were eyes openers for me. Allowed me to use my skills of self-awareness on how to spend my time. Giving the oppitunety to make my adjustments for college and life. The discussion in that week were interesting to see the views from the classmate. One of my favorite time management quotes hit the nail on the head Each minute that is wasted is never replaced. We only get one chance to use each minute then it is gone forever.
Week four, Success and Motivation. The book, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, is one that not only, a student needs to read, but everyone would benefit from it. I feel the most important habit for success for online learning would be the first one, Be proactive. This habit focus on self-mastery to control our own effectiveness. Learning online is a self-motivated mission. When you learn how to get the information you are looking for you can move from dependence to independence. Then on to the Adobe Connect had two parts both were very enlightening.
My VARK Results:
The second part was Carl Jung Typology a personality preference results was as follows.

ENFJs are the benevolent ‘pedagogues’ of humanity. They have tremendous charisma by which many are drawn into their nurturant tutelage and/or grand schemes. Many ENFJs have tremendous power to manipulate others with their phenomenal interpersonal skills and unique salesmanship. But it’s usually not meant as manipulation — ENFJs generally believe in their dreams, and see themselves as helpers and enablers, which they usually are.
ENFJs are global learners. They see the big picture. The ENFJs focus is expansive. Some can juggle an amazing number of responsibilities or projects simultaneously. Many ENFJs have tremendous entrepreneurial ability.
ENFJs are, by definition, Js, with whom we associate organization and decisiveness. But they don’t resemble the SJs or even the NTJs in organization of the environment nor occasional recalcitrance. ENFJs are organized in the arena of interpersonal affairs. Their offices may or may not be cluttered, but their conclusions (reached through feelings) about people and motives are drawn much more quickly and are more resilient than those of their NFP counterparts.
ENFJs know and appreciate people. Like most NFs, (and Feelers in general), they are apt to neglect themselves and their own needs for the needs of others. They have thinner psychological boundaries than most, and are at risk for being hurt or even abused by less sensitive people. ENFJs often take on more of the burdens of others than they can bear.
With each assignment, discussion or project I discovered a new or different part of knowledge that I needed for college. I will obviously be applying fragments of this course to my online learning and beyond. Strategies set in play of the technology of todays world is needed to help make the transition of college a little easier for learning in this online course has
