THE TRAGEDY OF JULIUS CAESAR WRITTEN BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE
THE CHARACTER SKETCH OF BRUTUS
Brutus was a politician of the late Roman public. He was born in 85 BC at Rome and he was also an jurist and a military commander .Brutus died by 23rd October 42 BC at the age of 43 in Philippi. He is a Good leader he is truthful and was respected by other members of the public .He is a Good husband and treats his wife as an equal one. Brutus is not interested in increasing his Social status but he is more concerned about the future of the Rome. Brutus is a complex character he will think that he is always a honorable and noble but he is not always practical. Do we know who are our real friends are? Do we know who will support us? These are the often questions that people may raise questions when started building our friendship or relationship with others. So this might be the questions that Julius Caesar should have asked about the people closed to him.
William Shakespeare’s play “THE TRAGEDY OF JULIUS CAESAR is mainly based on the assassination of Julius Caesar. Marcus Brutus, a servant and a close friend to Julius Caesar has a strong relationship with Caesar but a stronger relationship with Rome and it’s people. In many plays Brutus was talking next to Caesar. Brutus also loves Caesar but fears his power. And so Brutus doesn’t want Caesar to rise his power. But after the assassination of Julius Caesar Brutus talks Antony about the Caesar’s death. Brutus says that Antony cannot see their hearts which are full of pity. This shows how Brutus loved Caesar but cared for the life of Rome and it’s people more.Caesar’s relationship with Brutus is also strong .ceasar feels that Brutus is noble to him and does the right thing.caesar’s last line is”Et tu, Brute? -Then fall ,Caesar.”This shows that Caesar would not die without Brutus stab. Caesar realizes that there must be a noble reason for this. This again shows how much caesar respects Brutus.Brutus and Caesar both respects each other, but in different ways. Marcus Brutus had a very important role in the conspiracy against caesar. He was the back bone of the plan.
The people will think that Brutus is noble to Caesar so that there will be a good reason for caesar’s assassination.Again if Brutus leads the way the people will think that the death of Julius Caesar wasn’t such a bad thing. Brutus also declares that his main role is to save Rome.He says to the people that not that I loved Caesar less but I loved Rome more. Scince Brutus loved Rome more he decided to be the part of the conspiracy .If he hadn’t loved that Rome more than caesar , he would not have joined the assassination of Julius Caesar. If Brutus was not in the play the title would have absolutely no meaning.Marcus Brutus was a good friend to Julius Caesar but not good enough.Brutus joined mainly because he didn’t want Caesar to turn back to Rome. If Brutus was not in the play there would be no “Tragedy” in the Tragedy of Julius Caesar.
So by this I conclude my essay by saying that Brutus is not that much rude or worst in his character actually he did all for the people and he is more concerned about the people of Rome. So that’s the reason why Brutus killed Caesar and in from his view what he did is right .Actually when people get to know the story of Julius Caesar they blindly just say that Brutus is the wrong one and he is the one who killed Caesar but no one tries to understand or just to want to know why Brutus killed Caesar and no one wanted to know that why Brutus killed Caesar and it’s all because of the concern that he has in Rome. In the choice of selecting Caesar or Rome Brutus chooses the people of Rome just because to save the people of Rome.
