IKEA was built by Ingvar Kamprad and officially opened in Almhult, Sweden in 1958. Initially, at the age of five, Ingvar Kamprad started selling matches to his neighbours
that was not far away from his home and by the time his age reached seven, his business expanded when he decided to buy matches in bulk with a low price in Stockholm and resell them individually at a very low price but still make a good profit. Besides that, he is also sold some small items like greeting cards, Christmas tree decorations, and even pens. This clearly shows that Ingvar Kamprad owned the features of a successful entrepreneur since he was young. In addition, the name ‘IKEA’ was created from the initials of ”Ingvar” and ”Kamprad”, ”I” and ”K”, and the following letters of ”E” and ”A” picked from the initials of Elmtaryd and Agunnaryd, the farm and village where he lived when he was young. IKEA now stands at par with other well-known companies around the world including Malaysia
