of Domestic Violence in workplaces and on employee’s performance and
productivity. This study focuses more on the offenders than the offended.
This limelight on perpetrators is to provide them “prevention and  intervention”  measures because avoiding the perpetrators or
keeping them out of workplace is not the right means to hold the abuser
accountable for violent acts.

subjects for this survey were provided by Ontario’s Partner Assault Response
(PAR) program – an intervention program for domestic violence criminals. 22 PAR programs joined the survey and
a homogeneous mixture of respondents from different areas was formed. The
graphs ( Pie chart and Table) show the homogeneity subjects from various
regions and participating PAR agencies.501

men, 6 percent were retired employees and the rest of them were women
offenders. Canadians consisted of 84% of the respondents while merely 13%

Family courts.

with their  ex-partner during work hours
and 34%  accepted torturing partner
emotionally using texts, calls or emails, while on work. The pie chart clearly
depicts that 69%of domestic violence perpetrators , 69 percent emotionally
abused while 71 percent of them monitored their partner’s activities.

respondendts demanded more involvement of workplaces  to reduce aftermath of domestic violence on
productivity and  safety.

The shortcoming of this study was the
limited number of the respondents and lesser involvement of women as
perpetrators. The study is unclear about the degree of domestic violence
perpetuated by the subject and its impact on his work. Another thing that makes
the study questionable is no use of intensive questionnaire regarding work
because every person works in a different job sector with different work
environments (A factory worker has different work conditions than a manager in
a multi-national company). The responses of every person cannot culminate into
an easy result as shown in the study. The study only asks some certain set
questions and does not go deep into a person’s work ethics.

is ambiguity about the study results which makes it difficult for me to
completely agree with them. To make this research more extensive there is a
need of collecting more information about the domestic violence criminals and
their work, workplaces, work ethics and their position. The study do answer some of its core questions like affect of domestic
violence on work and productivity but it gives no answer on how to make
perpetrators accountable for their deeds, not just by taking away their job or
slap a court case but other means of intermediating and stopping violence.
