Analyse how different management styles may influence outcomes of team performance
Management styles are determined by the situation, the needs and personalities of the workers, and by the culture of the organization. There has been a move away from authoritarian style of management in which control is a key concept to one that favours team work and empowerment. Management style that focus on Managers as technical experts who direct, co-ordinate and control the work of the others have been replaced by those that focus on Manager as coaches, counselors, facilitators and team leaders, successful management styles involve building teams, networks of relationships, and developing and motivating others. These actions can all influence outcomes of team performance, and either do or undo the fortunes of organisations.
